- Just a general question on the day off. I have an 8 y/o boy and 6 y/o girl who are starting to do the crossfit kids WoDs each week. Both are relatively fit from playing regular sports but have never really done situps, pushups, pullup or other exercises.
Should they just do the WoD (starting at the puppy level) each day with nothing else? I did notice on the regular/adult crossfit page, they mention a warm up that includes situps, pushup and pullups. Should a similar (scaled for age) warm up be done for the crossfit kids also? What are other regular users doing?
If I should ask this on a different forum - please let me know. thx

- Sure! Everybody needs to warm up before they workout, even kids. They don't have to do pushups, situps routine everytime, they could do a variation. However, we always do the same warm-up and cool down so the kids know what to expect and they can focus on the fun workout. Hope that helps.

- At CFK HQ we use a varied warm up, about 5 minutes worth just before a 5-10 minute session on a skill or focus subject, like virtuosity or say, sportsmanship.
Then we hit the WOD hard, and follow up with a CrossFit-ized Game.
Warm ups can be just about anything functional and whole body, sprinting, tuck jumps mountain climbers, burpees the list goes on and on. Therin nice blogspot !
