when its indicated to do 6 rounds of tabata what does the 6 refer to?
I think of a tabata as 8 intervals (taking 4 minutes)... Is the 6 simply a scale down from the 8? (The thought of doing 6 'full' tabata's according to my definition is enough to make me meet Pukie sitting STILL!)

Good question, and I do hope you don't meet Pukie. That is not our intention with the kids WOD's. The Tabata interval represents 20 seconds of work followed by 10 seconds of rest. Generally with adults in CF we use 8 intervals. Today we are scaling the puppies and buttercups back to 6 and 4 respectively. The number of rounds and loads are driven by our experience with the kids in our classes over the past several years.

then-
We did Runny Pushy Lynette
(The workout that is up for Friday April 20th.)
Most did 4 or 5 rounds ! Great work. Dewey got 176 Squats the first round ! Amazing
little dude.
We only had 5 minutes left after that tough workout so we had a game of dodgeball.
