Comments:
  1. Amber(pack): 2:00 - asked whether she could do "girl" P/U's (GASP!!). Mom gave a definitive "NO". Form needs work, but great effort.
Summer(pup): 1:10 - afterwards, she mentioned she could do 10 "perfect" P/U's on the floor to show her sister. They may not have been perfect, but certainly looked great! (sibling rivalry is a good thing sometimes - heh)

  5. Anna & Molly and JBD, those are some fast times!
Amber, I'm glad you decided not to do "girl" push ups. The only way to get better at them is to do them. Your mom is right.
Summer way to motivate your sister!

  7. Cyndi,
How did you do the medicine ball races? I am trying to incorporate some CF into our local swim team dryland workouts, but have limited room and/or equipment to use. We are lucky to have use of an indoor track, but hauling any type of equipment for a group of 20+ is a challenge, to say the least. Any suggestions??

  9. Maria,
The medicine ball races we did included Under/Over-create 2 lines, 1st person passes the ball under their legs, second person passes it over their head. When the ball gets to the last person in line, they run to the front of the line and begin to pass it again. This continues until everyone has been to the front of the line. 1st team to finish wins. A variation of this would be to have them stand in line formation and pass the ball side to side in a lateral motion. You can also have them slalom back and forth through the lines as they carry the ball.

Then, we placed half of each team at opposite ends of the room. Each team member had to carry the medicine ball across the room to another team member, back and forth until each person had crossed the room. 1st round they had to hold the med. ball overhead, arms fully extended. 2nd round they held their arms straight out in front of them and alternated bouncing the med. ball off each knee as they walked across the room.

Animal races require no equipment, offer some great exercise and the kids love them. You can have them race across the room doing bear crawls, duck walks, crab walks, inchworms, etc.

Beck's burpee races are always fun too.

    Hope this helps,
    Cyndi
